Fallen

Opening my eyes each and every day
Hoping the loneliness will fade away
I go through motions of being alive
All the while holding my tears deep inside
The heartache and pain they blend into one
Jaded and broken I can’t see the sun
An empty hole masquerades as my heart
I’ve fallen so far, I’ve fallen apart

Hope is a memory, once that I knew
How lost I’ve become finding my way to you
I’ve made mistakes and hung my head in shame
Chasing down a dream which had no name
Wanting always what I thought could be there
My ignorance being it's own despair
No where to find harbor, no where that I go
My own inhibitions hold me prisoner, I know

I’m not so resplendent anymore
Disillusioned, so I close the door
