    Renaming Slaves

A quick question. In my story a woman receives a slave name. Do you keep her original name in future descriptions or change it to the new name. I intend to change her name again, so it could make the story a little confused.

    Thoughts?

Did my question make sense? Really how is my story to make any sense when I can't even ask a straight question

Oh it's not that unncommon. (I've just read the story in which her name is chaged at least six times and it is not finished yet AND it still easy to follow). It depends on you, the author, not the name changes

Use her name of the moment. Wouldn't it be even more confusing if you were using one name and the other characters some other?

That is, unless you are after some other effect?

    Have fun

Instead of renaming the slave, how about keeping her name---but requiring her to adopt a licence plate or desk nameplate that has (in addition to her name) "slut" or "whore" or "fucktoy". If the chick in the story is a secretary, her desk nameplate will read "so-and-so, sexatary"

Well, if it just reaffims your thoughts - perhaps it wasn't much of an advice

    Glad I could help.

I think it can largely depend on how well you write POV for your character. That can determine how well your audience understand the name changes that have taken place.

One consideration... if you are writing from her POV, have you considered that maybe she will be confused by the name changes as well? That way you can have some internal monologue over her not realising she's been called and also some added punishment scenes over her ignorance. That way the audience get the chance to get used to the name changes.

    Name changes

The only time I've done this so far, the Dom was the narrator, so of course once he'd given her a new name, that was how he thought of her.

In 3rd person it's less obvious, but I'd suggest that it depends on the POV. Even in 3rd person, there's usually a viewpoint character. If it's the Dom, again, he'll think of her as what he calls her. But if it's the sub's viewpoint, you could get quite an interesting sideline on her feelings by going on using her old name for a while, then switching to the slave name at a point where she's starting to accept her new status.
