wow thats insane......definitely puts things into perspective....

although for arguments sake.....those numbers quoted for New Orleans also includes business and commercial properties as well wouldn't it? i mean they are seeking money to re-build everything, like colleges, museums, landmarks and so, yes? or does like insurance and stuff come into play?

i think taxes are necessary to an extent.... i mean i don't mind paying taxes for a computer to be in every classroom or a much needed stop light put up at a bad intersection.i'm not sure where else this money would come from.....but i agree with the idea that taxes have gotten a bit out of control.

i mean....in SC in the city i live, our school systems are horrible. our roads are worse. but i've got a significant chunk of money coming out of my paycheck every week.....and i dont see the results.

i think maybe that's how it is in alot of places these days......
