Shaun O'Malley's wife had left him and the island with their three year old daughter two years ago. It had been a quick divorce for incompatability and she had taken their daughter while agreeing to no child support nor alimony. She was just glad for it to have it over and, though she could had pursued abuse charges against her husband involving both she and the baby, she just wanted away from Shaun as quickly as possible and as far as possible. She was afraid of him ! How he treated his family would remain hidden.

His wife dumping him had been a blow to Shaun's ego. He had tried to teach her a woman's place in their marriage, but she was just too independent. If he was to continue in law enforcement it would be best to keep his teaching methods secret. His wife agreed because things he had done to her were just too degrading for her to face in public.

That his wife had escaped his control made Shaun somehow feel that he was less pf a man. It had grated on his self esteem for two years. Now that he had the opportunity, he was going to prove the strength of has manhood by destroying Molly. He would teach her a woman's place ! The rape in the car had been a good start, he thought. And now he was on his way to search her house with her personal belongings. He had time as the public meeting was not until five and the deputies would be occupied cleaning Molly up.

He pulled the squad car in the drive and went in the house.
