The first of my millions of "is this normal" posts.

So far, most of my experience of S&M has been with fiction, porn (woo go tautologies) and a godawful Rihanna song. I like reading and writing about things, and I've actually considered trying a few of them... But now I'm realising I don't want to.

Specifically, I've always quite enjoyed the idea of nipple clamps. They're so fun in stories, but... well, my boobs disagree about how much fun they are.

Is it normal to really, really like the idea of something and then find it hard to actually do, or is it just the case that it feels nicer when you're more turned on or with someone you love?

Well, I believe that some things are better left in the realm of fantasies, or that one have to wait to be in the situation/with the person they really feel like trying said things.

I also think that like anything sexual, when you're turned on, and that you communicate well with your partner (no matter if short/long term...) it works better, even though it's also natural to try certain things and then realize that you like them better when in thoughts than in actions.

If you've only tried using nipple clamps on yourself solo, then you may well find that it's a completely different story if a partner uses them on you. Or then again, maybe you won't, maybe your nipples are too sensitive and it just provokes the /bad/ kind of pain! Nothing wrong with having something as a fantasy, but leaving it in that realm and not toying with it in real life. I for one know of at least one fantasy I have which remains just that and (up until now at least) isn't something I have ever had interested in bringing into reality. And that's fine! For me I've found that it can still be fun to narrate a role play with your partner involving the fantasy as a form of role play. Or just leave it to the stories - up to you! As far as being "normal" goes... well, we all know normal is relative, hehe, but yes, I'd say it's very normal indeed!

As said above, some things are best left as a fantasy. However, I strongly believe that sometimes you have to try something before you can really say you like it or not. As a sub, you have to be able to fully let go and give yourself to your Master 100%... mind, body, and soul. I suppose that until you are able to actually do it, enjoy the fantasy

Yes, it's normal. I fantasize about things I'd never do. I also like being "forced" to do things I don't like. It's not so much the actual activity I enjoy so much as the person I'm with.
Once you put your hand in the flame,
You can never be the same.
    There's a certain satisfaction
In a little bit of pain.
    I can see you understand.
I can tell that you're the same.
If you're afraid, well, rise above.
I only hurt the ones I love.
