Aye, that character was Begbie (actor Robert Carlise), and he was (surprise, surprise) portraying a Glaswegian.
I moved to Scotland 11 years ago and I still get that yummy feeling when I hear most of the accents. And let us not forget Sean Connery - an Edinburgh man and of course, Billy Connolly.
I find abbrasive and harsh accents (including German, Russian, Bulgarian, etc.)to be simply divine and erotic
