DEFINITELY do this! Some of the prices for "animal accessories" in the BDSM world are outrageous. ie... more than 30 bucks for a crop. Around here, you can get a good crop for 10. And with more selection, at a tack store. (although we just borrow one from my barn. hehe)

Same thing goes for just about anything that is *normally* used on an animal. Check it out in a tack shop or pet store first. Probably cheaper, better quality and almost definitely better selection.
